NFL Week 3 Discussion

Yeah this is probably the worst game i’ve seen since the 90’s, and I spent all last week watching the browns, tampa bay, and carolina. This is an embarrassment on an MNF game.

That’s gotta be the 19th would-be interception.

At least we got to see history made.

Maybe rodgers will get one last pass and throw a 100 yard TD. Then I’ll only lose by 70 points.

Wow. Perfect end to the crappiest game ever.

Everyone on both teams should just go home and take up crochet.

Rodgers looked OK (I mean, just barely OK). Everyone else should be embarrassed.

18 penalties on the Packers tonight. It’s kind of hard to argue my usual spiel about the officials taking care of Green Bay. I have to say, I don’t remember seeing a game where the Packers have played with such a lack of discipline. That’s on the coaches, I guess.

From the first angle they showed the replay at it looked like his toe was out of bounds. I’d still like to see it in slow motion at a better angle of it, because the only other replay they showed was at full speed and it was impossible to tell.

They showed it several times in slo-mo, and his foot never touched out of bounds. It looked like it might have swept over the line in the air, but it never touched the ground.

There are obviously alot of Cheesers here. Too bad, so sad.

Actually I found the game quite enjoyable, even if the refs did miss THREE blatent holds on the Packers against Julius Peppers.

GO BEARS!!!

The refs miss blatant holds on just about every play on which holding isn’t called.

Goddamnit so much! You’re a Bears fan?

Hell, you’re probably just trolling here too.

Yeah yeah, don’t accuse people of trolling. Gotcha first mod that feels like it.

Julius Peppers was probably the player of the game. I don’t think he got any sacks, but he caused a number of holds (including one which took back a Packer TD) and false starts, basically had the Packers O-line off blance and jumpy the whole game, plus he blocked a FG.

Props out to Devon Hester too, for giving the Bears an adrenaline shot to the heart with that TD return.

And as much as I hate to say it, Aaron Rodgers played well too. He was the only player on his team who really did. The loss was not his fault.

Geez, the most miserable Packer performance I have seen in a long time.

The Packers had 18 penatlies tonight and it could have easily been 25. Peppers got mugged consistently. Ugly game all around and Cutler still seems to jam his head firmly up his ass prior to any Primetime games. Thank god Hester came to play tonight, I almost forgot what it was like for him to be a threat in the return game. Few people saw it but he absolutely lit up AJ Hawk on a first half completion to Knox. Dom Capers really seemed to have Martz’s number in the first half and pretty much had Cutler baffled when they only rushed 3. Martz adjusted and dominated the second half. Lovie Smith desperately needs to reaquaint himself with the QB draw. I know Clark should have caught that pass but a QB sneak would have erased all doubt. Great game from Olsen, I think he won the TE battle tonight. The Bears were a complete embarrassment on 3rd down on defense. We had the Pack in 3rd and 8 or more at least 6 times and gave it up too often. The Bears once again decided that tackling somehow doesn’t involve hands or arms and only helmets and shoulders. As a result they gave up tons of free yards. Please people wrap up and break down the ball carrier. Urlacher got flat out punked on that Rodgers TD run. He should have had him dead to rights but he was either too slow or indecicive. Great play on that strip and great job by Jennings staying in bounds on the recovery.

Great win, 3-0. Lots of work still to do. Lovie is still a disaster but I want to keep Martz. I wish this team could tackle because they’d blow people out if they did. Also, eat shit Buggy.

Trolling? Wow, how do those sour grapes taste?

GO BEARS!

It’s absolutely on the coaches.

It’s on the coaches and the players. They’re not kids, they’re professionals. Nick Collins doesn’t need a coach to know that he shouldn’t body slam people after the whistle blows.

I haven’t seen the replays of that one, and I couldn’t hear the whistle, but it appeared to my more than slightly inebriated eyes that Forte wasn’t down and that Collins was tackling him, albeit not in a nice way.

And since we’re talking about Collins, I thought I’d share this little gem:

“The fan had spit on Collins and used a racial slur, the television station reported. Collins later apologized for his conduct.”. Ahh, good old Bears fans.

Forte wasn’t down in the sense of being on the ground, but he was in the grasp of two Packers and no longer trying to advance the ball, and the whistle had clearly already blown.
