Heh.
Wow, I turned on the forty whiners game just in time to see the most awesome pick-6 of ever.
What the hell is wrong with the 49ers offensive playcallng? They’ve got Gore bitching about not getting enough carries recently (and rightly so), and now Kaepernick is getting harried, harassed, sacked and intercepted…why? Because they’re passing the ball on almost every damn play!
I think it’s due to the extra London game this year.
Not sure where Philly’s offense went to this weekend…
Dallas treated the Saints like Ned Beatty in Deliverance.
The Saints do have a purty mouth.
a rape joke in 2014? seriously? didn’t you learn anything from the CBS PSA about sexual assault
I thought we were more enlightened here
Rape month is four months away, at the end of the season.
They played the 49ers’ defense. Too bad the offense isn’t worth shit.
Rape jokes are only okay when used in reference to Ben Rothlisberger.
I think Greg Roman has done an excellent job as OC in San Fran, tailoring his offense to suit the skills and abilities of his QB, O Line, and skill position players. Now, I think he’s looking forward a little bit with his designs and playcalling. For the last couple years, the Niners have always been in the bottom 4 of pass attempts. I think Roman is trying to get ahead of the curve and bring that number up a bit. Kaepernick is on pace to have almost 500 attempts, which would be almost 100 more than all last year. Roman, I would guess, is trying to balance his offense and develop his QB as a passer. While that can be troubling at times, I think he has a longer view.
I think the issue now is whether or not Kaepernick can do the things that typical NFL QB’s can. After watching him these last two weeks, I’m not sure he can. He certainly shows flashes, but too often he is bailed out of an inaccurate throw by a great play by Anquan Boldin (ala Joe Flacco) or Vernon Davis. A few times during Sunday’s game, he simply couldn’t hit his receiver in stride (Aikman pointed that out more than once), and had to rely on Gore’s 55 yard screen as a big play.
I think Roman is trying to develop his QB into a better passer, and to do so, he’s calling more passing plays. The question now is whether Roman continues to give Kaepernick those opportunities or if he goes back to limiting those pass attempts. And whether Kaepernick can deliver.
Yesterday was the second time this season that Kaepernick wasted a timeout just to avoid a meaningless delay penalty. Those aside, San Fran leads the league with 4 delay penalties. I don’t think Kaepernick has entirely grasped the offense. His athleticism has allowed him to get away with it, and their defense has usually allowed them some margin for error, but he still looks like a rookie at times.
I was pleasantly surprised when the national anthem for the game tonight was a band playing with the audience singing along. So much more pleasant to listen to than some so-called singer mauling the tune.
The Chicago-Green Bay game had no punts, only the second time in NFL history(!) there were no punts in a game (1992 San Francisco-Buffalo).
I’m going to go out on a limb and predict that the Patriots will not win this game.
Raiders fire Dennis Allen. The clown car show continues
I agree with that to an extent, and of course I posted my comment in the early first half when the 49ers passing game was flailing badly and they simply weren’t giving the ball to Gore at all, and of course by game’s end Gore had over 100 yards rushing and a few touches in the passing game.
But Lordy Bagordy did that passing game look harried and shitty in that first quarter. Even Kapernick’s innate scrambling ability wasn’t saving him from the situations Roman was putting him in.
I think there’s merit to keeping their attack balanced with Gore and now Hyde running the rock. They are both studs, much like what you will see in Foxborough next Sunday from Giovanni Bernard and his compatriot Jeremy Hill.

Looking like they might have a perfect record this season?
