NFL Week 5

Might I gently suggest a trip to an optometrist?

I’m comfortable siding with the experts and not embracing internet hysteria sourced to social media, and generally avoiding delusions and conspiracy theories, thank you.

Especially as the ball went back and to the left. Back and to the left.

I hadn’t heard of Wiregate until reading this thread. My question is, what was that wire doing there? There’s a camera that’s suspended over the field by four cables, but that was capturing video of the kick.

Is there a second camera suspended over the field, and that’s the one whose wire was hit? If that’s the case, the NFL doesn’t need footage of the ball hitting the cable. Just watch the video footage that camera was shooting. If, two seconds after the ball is kicked, the camera goes all cattywampus, that should answer the question.

That’s an interesting point.

I gotta agree with you. Going through the video frame by frame, you can never clearly see the ball hit the wire. The wire seemingly flapping coincides with the camera zooming and it appears to stop when the camera stops zooming.

One observation in the affirmative is the fact that the ball ends up spinning end over end in an underhand motion when it started spinning in an overhand motion. Complicating matters is the fact that it continues tumbling overhand after it would have made contact with the wire and only spins in the opposite direction after it’s to the right of the upright. Did it ding off the upright?

Something weird happened.
