Surprised Vegas is only giving New Orleans 3.5 tonight. I guess crazy things happen on Thursday nights, but they’ve been really bad and Atlanta has been really good.

And the Panthers getting 7 points? Even at Seattle, that seems steep.

Finally, I’m putting the Broncos on upset alert again. The Browns shredded Baltimore and Payton Manning has been playing like a version of himself that has cable TV.

My beloved Falcon might be 5-0, but I don’t think Atlanta has really been playing all that well. The only game we really rolled the other team was Houston, and they’ 1-4, hardly a powerhouse. We had a great second half against Dallas, but again that’s a 2-3 team and our first half sucked. All our other games were by one score. Meanwhile, with the Aints are 1-4, 3 of those losses were when they didn’t have Drew Brees, who is a damn good QB.

Plus short week so there’s not as much prep time, it’s away for Atlanta, and it’s the division rivalry. I see it as a tough game. Of course, I’ll still be rooting for us to win, but I won’t be too surprised if we flub all over the place. Devonte Freeman, Julio Jones, and Roddy White aren’t 100% (even if they are listed as ‘Probable’) and without them Matt Ryan doesn’t have much ability to win the game all by his lonesome. Especially if Bryant whiffs a few more field goals.

Of course, the Aints are missing Colston, who is a big part of their offense, so maybe we’ll have a good game.

Time to spin the Detroit Lions Wheel of Misfortune! Last week, we landed squarely on “Forget How to Play Football” after having our hearts broken by the “Inopportune Fumble/Missed Penalty” spin the week before.

What will it be this week, folks? My money is on “Matt Stafford gets chokeslammed through the Spanish-language announcers’ table by Jay Cutler while the refs aren’t looking”.

Seriously, though: this is one of the three games I could see them winning. Chicago doesn’t look very good, either. If the Lions win, it’ll be over the Bears or Raiders.

The Hawks/Panthers game is going to break my heart.

My son is a bleeds-cyan-and-black Panthers fan. He’s so happy this season, after so many disappointing ones. I really don’t want their streak to end.

But the Seahawks are my team, since my callow and foolish youth. (Which is probably why I seized on them back in the day.) They’ve been so good recently, but this season? Every time they lose, they do it in epic unexpected ways, and every time they do, a small part of my soul dies.

Dammit.:frowning:

Seems like Andrew Luck is a go this week and the Pats are still big favorites in Indy Sunday night.

Manziel in a minor incident with his girlfriend but admitted to drinking earlier that day. Looks like no charges filed but this won’t help him.

Browns are going to get wrecked this week.

You were a prophet for this game.

I also can’t believe we have an entire month of that women-pandering pink everything bullshit. A week I could probably tolerate, but 4 games is a fucking quarter of the NFL season. A quarter of the NFL season about one particular form of cancer.

tits: good

It looks like the players puked a Pepto Bismol all over their uniforms. I’ve made it my minor crusade to contact every company using pink in their ads on Twitter telling them I despise the pink washing as well as the Komen foundation

Coaches are too resistant to pulling starting QBs. Treating them like 5 year olds who might go pout if they’re pulled out of the game. McCown is awful and rattled and not getting any better - pulling him at this point is mostly upside.

I unfortunately get the Bengals / Bills game on local TV today nd not seeing so much pink.

Lions-Bears are finishing the game in last-fuck-up-loses style, as you would expect.

Panthers-Seahawks is pretty chippy early. Good game so far.

But you saw a whole lot of awesome from the 6-0 Cincinnati Bengals!

Woot!

Hey, the Lions won! It turns out that letting Matt Stafford just heave the damn ball out of the view of the TV cameras and down to Calvin Johnson still works.

I’m sure Caldwell and Lombardi will go right back to calling only short passes next week.

Huge win for the Panthers in Seattle! Cam drove them the length of the field with 2:30 left for the winning touchdown. 5-0!

Well, I was wrong, but I’d have preferred it ended that way.

Packet fan here, can finally exhale
