What kind of shit is this? A true Steelers fan would watch the entire game while doing shots of Everclear, all the while screaming and throwing things fit to scare the entire neighborhood of trailers, then show up at that new job 15 minutes late in a Hines Ward jersey, with his sister in one arm and a bottle of Old Crow in the other hand.
Defensive schemes where cornerbacks always cover either left or right seem retarded to me. Why let the offense dictate the matchup? Wayne is going to abuse the Browns all day because they’re not lining him up on Haden’s side of the field, and Jauron apparently thinks Haden staying on his side is more important than putting your best corner on the guy who’s tearing you up.
Richardson is pretty clearly hurting from that rib injury - I doubt he can finish the game, or at least he shouldn’t.
The continued playing of Owen Marecic baffles me. I realize it’s weird to complain so much about a fullback, but the Browns would seriously be better playing 10 players on offense than to have him on the field.
It looks like Greg “93% drop rate” Little managed to make a great catch after the refs hosed the Browns ridiculously on the previous play.
Terrell Suggs is back on the field after achilles surgery in May - already has a sack and a couple of QB pressures. Not enough to keep the Texans from going up 9-3, but he’s making a difference to the Ravens’ defense. Amazing recovery.
ETA: ah shit, pick-6 by Jonathon Joseph 16-3.
The officiating in this game… you’d think the Colts were the Steelers.
Man, the Texans are just destroying the Ravens.
The great Giants run defense from last week was an aberration. The Redskins are running very easily on the Jints, save for the occasional stop.
Alfred Morris is a beast.
Josh Gordon is kind of a one trick pony so far in his development, but he’s been doing that one trick a lot…
I know complaining about officiating doesn’t go well around here, but it’s been pretty blatantly bad in the Browns-Colts games. They’re constantly shaving half a yard to a yard off the spots on the Browns plays, but giving an extra half yard to a yard on the Colts spots. They called offensive pass interference on a receiver away from the play that wasn’t even close to being interference, but the Colts have been running blatant picks all game. It has been entirely one sided.
They just called pass interference on a ball that sailed 10 yards over the receiver’s head where there was almost no contact anyway. It was so blatantly silly that they had to pick up the flag, but the intent was there.
The Cardinals have denied the rumor that they’re working out Vince Young this week, but after that last hit to Skelton, they’d better bring him in for a look.
Bring back the replacement refs!
Damn it, another 50 yard Gordon pass beautifully thrown bounces off his fingertips. Indy stadium has little pockets of sunlight from the retractable roof - looks like the dark/light transition might’ve blinded him at just the wrong moment.
Browns punt on 4th and 1 at the Colts 40. I cannot fucking stand that shit. Great job, you gave up a chance at scoring for 20 yards you fucktard.
I’d rather have had that 4th and 1 they punted away for a net 21 yards than the 4th and 6.
Friggin’ Shurmur.
What’s strange is that this year has presented IIRC 4 seperate times in which going for a 2 point conversion was appropriate and Shurmur didn’t go for any of them. I called the Eagles winning 21-20 as soon as he kicked the PAT in week 1, and in this week he ensured his team would be down by 4 rather than 3, so that when they had 4th down at the Colts 25 they had to go for the TD rather than go for the FG to tie.
I don’t understand how NFL head coaches can be so bad at decisions that 14 year old kids playing Madden routinely get right.
Way to answer, Giants!
Unless there’s a huge turnaround with the Browns this year, by the way, I think Shurmur sealed his fate. I think Haslam and Banner actually like Shurmur and want him to do well and keep him, so they’re looking for a reason to keep him, but his gutless 4th and 1 punt at the 40 is probably just intolerable to a guy like Haslam who presumably knows how to get shit done. His reaction to that choice wasn’t positive.
Bah, don’t hate on the real refs. They wouldn’t give a huge hand to the Cowboys today, now would they?
Damn that was ugly. Let’s go bye week!
Strangely this year the Cowboys are 0-3 when playing on a long week, 3-0 when playing on a regular rest or short week.
