Dockers were on sale?
To clarify, most of the coaches and sideline staff are wearing tan hoodies with a camo lining. Pete Carroll is the only one I’ve seen wearing his team colors.
It’s now November; I’m pretty sure it’s “Salute to Service” gear, since the NFL does tribute stuff for the US armed services throughout November (in the same way that they wear cancer awareness stuff in October).
In other news, Cleveland is bad again.
In other, other news, how about them Buffalo Bills?! I’d like to go catch a game in Orchard Park and hit the Anchor later.
Got it, thanks. TB-SEA is going to overtime. It’s been a fun game so far.Russell Wilson is doing his thing and Mike Evans is a beast.
I don’t bitch about the refs too much these days - only when it’s really egregious. When I see something crazy, I’ll double check the game thread on reddit. If every fan from random teams, and even Browns divisional rivals are yelling at how bad the call is, then I’ll realize that indeed, the refs have massively fucked the Browns again. The Browns ran a 4th & 1 on the Denver 4, ran a QB sneak, made it easily, by 2 feet, in the situations where the refs call it in favor of the offense if it’s even close, and they pulled the ball back like a full yard to spot it. Absurd. Defense was gassed and demoralized and Denver turned it into a TD the other way, so a 14 point swing on that bullshit.
Yeah, the Browns are disappointing. But between this and the seahawks games, the refs handed them 2 losses. They could be 4-4 heading into the weak part of their schedule. Absolutely backbreaking.
Nah, the Browns are the Browns. Baker Mayfield can’t find open receivers. Not the refs fault.
You know, it’s weird, because you’re generally a thoughtful poster, and yet when posting about sports, suddenly you adopt the simplistic mindset of most sports fans - reducing multi-variable issues into one single issue to simplify them.
Yes, Baker Mayfield has accuracy issues this year. That does not mean that the refs did not play a pivotal role in some of the losses. That does not mean that one single factor is responsible for all the events that affect the game.
That’s just dumb sports fan logic. Like - imagine the refs took away 4 TDs from you for bullshit reasons, and then you claw your way back and you’re down by 2 points at the end of the game. You try to kick the FG as time expires, and miss. It would be absolutely logical and true that the 4 TDs the refs took away were far more important to the outcome of the game than the missed FG, but you’d be saying “oh you missed that FG, your team deserved to lose!”
So the refs could call the Browns for a thousand unjustified penalties, but hey, the Browns are the Browns, so they deserved to lose, not the ref’s fault!
The Chargers pull this almost every year. Disappointing start to the season, then just when they’re about to be written off completely they’ll win a game or two against strong teams.
Of course I didn’t see it coming, and picked GB in all my picks contests, but still.
The problem I’m having with the Bills is that they’re not overwhelming teams that they should be overwhelming.
Wow. If it is irony and involves Football, does that make it gridirony? Regardless, it burns like a Centralia basement.
The notion that the Browns are particularly persecuted by the refs is ridiculous. It just is. All teams get some bad calls. Some games you get more of them than others. Good teams still win not-so-good ones don’t.
Wilson pretty much single-handedly won that in OT. There’s a reason he has led the NFL in late game (4th Q or OT) wins for forever. He’s clutch.
Just not in SB49.
Bro, y’all have been to exactly one playoff game since Bubba Clinton left DC. And you all scored only 3 points in that game. Stop and smell the…Buffalo Wings. And then go to the Anchor and devour them, with some Southern Tier or Labatt’s beer.
Oh yah, it’s a ref conspiracy against the Browns.
Mate, the Browns have a WR core that should be able to get open on a regular basis, and from what I saw today, they actually were open. Mayfield just couldn’t find them.
I did not allege a conspiracy nor did anything you say actually address any points I actually made.
So then the refs aren’t unfairly penalizing the Browns more than any other team. Then why bring it up?
Either the refs are imperfect and get things wrong now and then and all the teams are dealing with that. Or multiple teams of refs are targeting the Browns for some reason. Which is it?
Come on Ravens. Crush the Patriots tonight.
Color me impressed by the in game adjustments the Pats did after falling behind in the game. Should be interesting to see if the Ravens can find more success after halftime.
Looking good now…
