NFL Wildcard Weekend

Another dropped interception by the Bills. Bortles should buy some lottery tickets.

Finally a home team wins. And now, go Saints!

I don’t have a dog left in the fight any more (Rams and Bolts fan here); I’m just hoping for an offensive battle. So far, teams have averaged under 16 points and winning teams under 20.

I’m guessing this Bills-Jags game is not one the NFL will soon point to when they’re making a case about what an entertaining, high-quality product they offer to their audience.

Saints looking pretty good so far.

It’s the Bills and the Jaguars. It’s what I’d expect. Two teams that aren’t terrible but aren’t exciting either.

Someone needs to get Cam a towel, this is around the time he will start pouting on the bench with a towel over his head.

I totally called that QB run play for Cam on the last drive. He was still on one knee when the refs whistled it into action. Yay me.

Hell, the Redskins wouldn’t have looked out of place in that game.

I can’t believe Derek Anderson is still in the league. After some research it turns out he’s earned almost $31 million over his career, good for 23rd place in career earnings for active QBs coming into this season. Not bad for a guy who’s started just 4 games since 2010.

.

Excellent ending to the Panthers-Saints game. Both were in it until the second-to-last play, and there was actually some non-kicker scoring.

Time for my favorite Cam; unhappy pouty Cam.

God what a stressful game from a Saints fan’s perspective. But what a game! Look out Minnesota (which will be a very, very tough game for the Saints)!

Congrats to the Saints for knocking off my Panthers.

I guess I’m rooting for the Saints and Falcons now that my home team is out. I just hope somebody, anybody, knocks off the Patriots.

My favorite too, but you have to admit he’s a beast. That hit he took was brutal, and would have crushed a lot of other QBs in the league.

Second that, big time.

Go Pats!!

Did he even have time to pout?

I have to say, I was impressed by the Panthers in defeat more than I’ve been by some of their previous playoff victories in recent years. I liked the way that they fought back - and almost beat - an opponent that was, in all likelihood, a little bit better than they were. I thought they were going to fold when they went down 31-19; instead they came very close to stealing a victory. They never gave up. They’re still young enough to compete for a championship next year. I felt like the team turned a corner, even in defeat. Rivera coached well the second half. Newton played calmly the second half. They were just up against a team that matched up well against them.

Remember, they’ll have to do it in Foxboro.
