NFL Yardage Pool competition

Woops, crap, sorry.

Updated:

Week 1 + Week 2 = Total

  1. RNATB 486 + 471 = 957
  2. Lieu 444 + 405 = 849
  3. Varlos 414 + 427 = 841
  4. notfrommensa 438 + 311 = 749
  5. SenorBeef 355 + 328 = 683
  6. Wilson 444 + 234 = 678
  7. Omni 384 + 0 = 384

Week 3 picks:

QB: Drew Brees
RB: Maurice Jones-Drew
WR: Steve Smith (CAR)

Still waiting for picks from Varlos, notfrommensa, and Omni (hope you’re not quitting, we’ll drop a week at the end of the year so you can still play on equal footing here)

Week 3

Passing - Joe Flacco - Ravens
Rushing - Ray Rice - Ravens
Receiving - Dallas Clark - Colts

it is probably counter-intuitive to go with passing and rushing on the same team. But heck, they are playing the Browns.

QB - Joe Flacco
RB - Ryan Grant
WR - Roy Williams

[del]QB: Kurt Warner, Drew Brees
RB: LaDanian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson
WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss[/del]

Week 3:
Matt Ryan
Ryan Grant
Santonio Holmes
(Would’ve been sweet if there was a WR named Grant Matthews.)

Joe Flacco: 307
Thomas Jones: 107
Marques Colston: 30
Week 1: 444

Aaron Rodgers: 261
Adrian Peterson: 92
Terrell Owens: 52
Week 2: 405 + 444 = 849

Drew Brees: 172
Brandon Jacobs: 92
Reggie Wayne: 126
Week 3: 390 + 849 = 1239

300 + 99 + 126 = 525

Just 1 yard short of the 300/100/100 trifecta!

Man, everyone stole my Ryan Grant idea.

Omni just needs a decent game from Roy Williams (85 yards) to win the week. SB needs… a miracle.

199 + 99 + 18 = 316

342 + 99 + ? = 441 so far

342 + 48 + 62 = 452

172 + 119 + ? = 291 so far

269 + 71 + 116 = 456

All numbers from NFL.com “weekly leaders” page.

RANTB, I think you had some of the picks mixed up

I had the Flacco/Rice/Clark picks.

Senorbeef had the Brees/Drew/Smith picks

Whoops! Sorry about that.

notfrommensa:
Passing - Joe Flacco - Ravens
Rushing - Ray Rice - Ravens
Receiving - Dallas Clark - Colts
342 + 48 + 62 = 452
SenorBeef:
QB: Drew Brees
RB: Maurice Jones-Drew
WR: Steve Smith (CAR)
172 + 119 + ? = 291 so far

Lots of addin’ here so somebody feel free to check my math. I did use a calculator…

lieu:
Drew Brees: 172
Brandon Jacobs: 92
Reggie Wayne: 126
172 + 92 + 126 = 390

RNATB:
Matt Schaub
Ryan Grant
Reggie Wayne
300 + 99 + 126 = 525

Omni:
QB - Joe Flacco
RB - Ryan Grant
WR - Roy Williams
342 + 99 + 75 = 516

SenorBeef:
QB: Drew Brees
RB: Maurice Jones-Drew
WR: Steve Smith (CAR)
172 + 119 + 38 = 329

notfrommensa:
Joe Flacco
Ray Rice
Dallas Clark
342 + 48 + 62 = 452

VarlosZ:
Matt Ryan
Ryan Grant
Santonio Holmes
199 + 99 + 18 = 316

Wilson:
Aaron Rodgers
Fred Jackson
Randy Moss
269 + 71 + 116 = 456

Running totals:
Week 1 + Week 2 + Week 3 = Total

  1. RNATB 486 + 471 + 525 = 1482
  2. Lieu 444 + 405 + 390 = 1239
  3. notfrommensa 438 + 311 + 452 = 1201
  4. Varlos 414 + 427 + 316 = 1157
  5. Wilson 444 + 234 + 456 = 1134
  6. SenorBeef 355 + 328 + 329 = 1012
  7. Omni 384 + 0 + 516 = 900

notfrommensa and Wilson move up one spot each; VarlosZ and SenorBeef both drop a spot. Omni’s huge week puts SB in danger of dropping behind the guy who forgot to pick anyone in Week 2. Shame, shame.

How am I so bad at this? Picking Drew Brees against a defense that gives up 300 yards a game (with half their schedule being Tampa Bay) seems like a no brainer for a 250+ yard game, right? And he puts up 172. What the hell? He could put up 172 throwing with his left arm.

Anyway, thanks to RNATB for compiling scores for this week. I’ve been planning to come up with a more elegant solution - for instance a table that has a row for each participant in the context, a column for each week, and then the players/yardage they put up in each box. That way it would be easy to see who you’d already picked, how you got your score, etc. But I’m not sure how to display it using the tools available on this forum. I suppose I could make a webpage that formatted the data, but I’m not really good with creating tables on web pages either. Does anyone have suggestions on how to manage this?

yes, we need something more elegant because apparently I have already “cheated” by picking Ray Rice in week 2 and week 3.

Passing - Tom Brady, Kyle Orton, Joe Flacco
Rushing - Reggie Bush, Ray Rice, Ray Rice
Receiving - Terrell Owen, Tim Hightower, Dallas Clark

Its not like he has done me any good, he rushed for 36 yds and 48 yds in weeks 2 and 3. Suggestion: take away 48 yds from me in week 3.

Just for my own benefit, I’m going to post the guys I’ve already used: Matt Hasselbeck, Santonio Holmes, Cedric Benson, Kurt Warner, Clinton Portis, Andre Johnson, Matt Schaub, Ryan Grant, Reggie Wayne.

Week 4

Peyton Manning
Chris Johnson
Santana Moss

[del]QB: Kurt Warner, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan
RB: LaDanian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson, Ryan Grant
WR: Larry Fitzgerald, Randy Moss, Santonio Holmes[/del]

Week 4:

Matt Schaub
Brandon Jacobs
Chad Ochocinco

[del]Matt Hasselbeck, Santonio Holmes, Cedric Benson, Kurt Warner, Clinton Portis, Andre Johnson, Matt Schaub, Ryan Grant, Reggie Wayne.[/del]
Kerry Collins
Darren McFadden
Jerricho Cotchery

Weeks 1-3 (so I don’t repeat) :stuck_out_tongue:

[del]Passing - Tom Brady, Kyle Orton, Joe Flacco
Rushing - Reggie Bush, Ray Rice, Ray Rice
Receiving - Terrell Owen, Tim Hightower, Dallas Clark[/del]

Week 4

Passing - Jay Cutler
Rushing - Chris Johnson
Receiving - Reggie Wayne

QB - Jay Cutler
RB - Glenn Coffee
WR - Chad Johnson (the bengals guy with the goofy name).

Actually, scratch Chad Johnson. Eric Wright is going to eat his wheaties tomorrow and own the hell out of him. Updating my pick to:

WR Mike Sims-Walker
