I’m reading. But don’t really feel that I can contribute much in a hockey thread. I’m a hometown fan. When I lived in Vancouver I cheered for the Canucks. Been living in Calgary most of my life so of course am a Flames fan.
I’d rather play than watch.
Having said that, how bout them Flames? Seem to be punching above their weight for now. but it’s a long season.
Alex Semin got benched for 19:49 of the 3rd Period last night, after going shotless through 2. “He played enough.” - Coach Peters.
Three shut-outs in four games? We’re at the top of the Metro division (god, what a stupid name), AND the Flyers lost last night. How much better could it get?

back in '97 I was working as a bartender/waiter at a high end restaurant in Clayton MO, The blues were playing the Wings at home in the play-offs. The whole Wings team (sans Goalies) came in for dinner and I got to serve them.
My two boys played hockey at the time and Idolized Steve Yzerman…Since Steve was the Captain he handled the bill and gratuity for the team…he asked if I was a hockey fan, I think I replied “Hell yes, and so are my boys”…he asked me for two pieces of paper then proceeded to personalize them to Devon and Cameron, my kids. He sent them around the table and every player signed and sent well wishes…
I KNOW Gordy was not at the table, but on each sheet some player had signed “#9, Mr. Hockey” He was quite beloved by the team. The wings ended up winning the cup that year!
I am still a diehard BLUES fan!
That first period against Ottawa was the worst period I have seen the Wings play in a very long time. God that was pathetic, I can’t figure out how they aren’t down by three.
