NHL 2014-2015 Season: The Thread

Yeah, that was a combination of horrible decision making with terrible execution by Detroit. There was also some really good play by Ottawa of course – our gap control was particularly good, which snuffed out pretty much every transition opportunity for the Red Wings.

They need to start burying those chances though.

Oh oh.

strange play there, I’m just glad jimmy is ok.

Canes up 3-1 against the Blue Jackets after 40.

Gordie Howe seems to be making some progress.

Yeah, the news sounds promising.

How many numbers between 1 and 30 are available to current Montreal players?

2, maybe 3. They may have to switch to hexadecimal at some point.

And this is why I completely and unequivocally support the Leafs in their honouring of numbers, but not retiring of numbers. Anyone can still wear number 13 or 14 or 21 or 27 or 30 or 93 or … etc.

ETA: They have retired Ace Bailey and Bill Barilko, but for exceptional circumstances.

Fabulous win for the Leafs over the Bruins tonight: 6-1. Are you kidding me?

GLG!

You often hear about how the flu or a cold can make the rounds in a dressing room, but what about mumps?

I know nothing about mumps. Weren’t we all vaccinated against mumps? These guys born in 1980, and 1985 seem too old to have been involved in the anti-vax scare. Weird.

Sens GM Bryan Murray is fighting cancer.

I wish him the best.

Well, that’s not new news, but it sounds terminal at this point.

Anyone see the crazy save by Lehtonen last night on his way to shutting out the Kings?

Wow! Visions of Grant Fuhr in his glory days.

I really need to watch a Winnipeg Jets game. I know every season has a team that starts off hot, but they seem to be quite an interesting team with good goaltending for a change.

Gotta love the Wings beating the Hawks soundly tonight. Good start for a long string of day-on-day-off games for the next month.

The Greiss is Right!

Boo!
