With Lucic sitting at home it looks like Subban has decided to make a strong play for the dirtiest piece of shit in the league.
Stupid play. The refs had just given Montreal a gift by calling high sticking instead of butt ending, which would have been an automatic major. Then he gives a two hander like that?
Or that the refs have decided to make a play for the most useless and biased in any sports league. Sort of like the famous Brett Hull non-goal against the Sabres in the '99 playoff finals. Stone was back in the game in half a minute or so. Subban was assessed a major to his team and then was thrown out for the rest of the game on a game misconduct. For what? Were you watching and/or listening to any of the CBC commentators? Sometimes the refs blow a call. Sometimes they really, really blow it big time.
ehh, Normally I am very much against diving. But I don’t really mind a guy faking an injury on a bullshit away from the puck slash with intent to injure. That’s the shit to get out of the game first.
Please. Stone played maybe 5 minutes of from that point on. He was clearly hurt and trying to play though it.
Well, he was injured on a slight tap on the arm. Was it a penalty? Yes, it was a penalty. Was it worth the diving and writhing and grimacing of pain? No. Stone and the Senators played that call like a fiddle. A 10 year old with no equipment wouldn’t have suffered as much as Stone purportedly did. It was a bullshit game misconduct.
A light tap? Maybe if you watched it in CBC’s super slow mo. That was a vicious two-handed slash that started above PK’s head. He was trying to hurt somebody with that, and he got his wish.
Stone’s been one of Ottawa’s most important players for months now. He wouldn’t have been coming in and out of the game for nothing.
I see slashes that vicious ten times every game. It was a ridiculous call. I’m a Sens fan and Subban out helps my team but that was preposterous.
Corey Crawford needs to shape up his game and quickly. The bad Corey showed up last night and fully deserved to get pulled. The Hawks can get past the Preds, but there’s no way they go further unless they wake up in a hurry
Stone has a broken wriste. Nice call, guys.
Fuck. Honestly, it didn’t look that bad to me.
Sorry man.
I need to not post while furious. Specifically it’s a micro fracture, not a full break, but at best Stone is hobbled for the rest of the series.
The Hawks won two Stanley cups with mediocre goaltending. Plus Darling has done pretty well. They’ll be fine.
That’s very bad news. I hate seeing stuff like this even though I’m a Habs fan for this series. I’m a little perplexed by Subban because off the ice he’s typically been the gentleman of the team and quite a bright guy, yet recently he’s got himself some really stupid penalties, like IIRC a stupid two-minute minor right in the middle of the freaking five-minute overtime in the last game against the Flyers, making it a 4-on-3 for almost half the entire overtime period.
That said, I still wonder on what basis the refs made that call when neither of the CBC commentators nor most of the TV audience saw it as appropriate. Much worse has happened with nothing more than a two-minute minor. Honest question because I can’t remember: what penalty was assessed against Chris Kreider for deliberately “accidentally” running into Carey Price last year and disabling him for the entire playoffs? Carey Price – the most important single player in the Habs lineup if not the most important single player in the entire league! IIRC, there was no penalty at all, but I could be wrong.
It’s a forced call. A slash that causes injury has to be a major. And a major slash has to be a game misconduct. So the Ref who clearly saw a two handed overhead slash to the wrist, saw the player fall to the ground, and then go to the locker room.
So the Ref has two options at that point. Decide he is faking injury, or kick the other guy out.
Mrazek stood on his head. The Wings stole home ice advantage.
Yep. That was possibly the worst performance I have ever seen by a team how managed to win a playoff game. 13 miserable shots? A PP specialty team who was utterly incompetent on the advantage? A young and fast team that is glacial slow and beaten to every puck?
but It’s on to Saturday.
New?
