NHL: April 2013

In the angle I saw it did look like the elbow came up to the head. InTSN’s “ask the ref”, this hit was discussed and the opinion there was that that the head wasn’t targeted, he was just trying to rotate his shoulder into the contract that was coming.

But, injury doesn’t mean penalty. Hockey is a rough game.

Isles are the Rodney Dangerfields of the NHL, but they’re 8-1-1 in their last 10, and just beat Boston on the road. Bring on the Rags!

Hawks win 31st of 40 tonight to sweep the regular season meetings with the Wings and clinch the division.

Ottawa might make the playoffs after all.

I don’t know HOW, but the wins over Philly and Jersey save their bacon for now. The schedule is tough for the next while, aside from a game against Carolina, so there’s still time for this shouldn’t-be-in-contention squad to revert to its normal state.

One goal against in two games will do wonders for you. Can three goaltenders share the Vezina?

It’s a rough schedule to end the year, especially given that there are plenty of games against teams that traditionally give us a lot of trouble (Carolina unfortunately being one of them). I am hoping that we have enough of a cushion over Winnipeg to keep us alive.

Stars are continuing their amazing late push with their 5th win in a row. Mostly against better teams as well. And what about that Alex Chiasson? Kid could be a superstar based on what he is showing so far.

So, the moves Shero made are starting to prove their worth. Pens currently have Crosby, Malkin and Neal out of the lineup, and continue to win. Morrow has finally gelled with the Penguins system and Iginla and Murray have integrated well also. Now 21-2 in the past 23 games. Crazy.

Dallas finally lost but their destiny is, technically, still in their hands.

It’s a season of teams that seemed to be dead coming to life.

Crazy like a fox. I’m absolutely loving it.

Now Adam Oates is actually saying that Ovechkin should win the Hart. Has he been sniffing Zamboni fuel? (Yes, he’s made an impressive turn-around. That still doesn’t make him the MVP)

Stars are having a big 3rd period and putting it to the Canucks. The playoffs are possible but not likely but the run has been fun lately.

Holy crap. Erik Karlsson participated in a full practise today and will return to the lineup as soon as he’s in game shape.

I don’t know what magic they worked on him and Cowen, but can they please try it on Spezza?

Hawks complete the 5-0 regular season sweep of the Preds with an overtime 5-4 win at home on Pat Foley day

Pens beat the Bruins 3-2 and clinch the #1 seed!

Glad to hear about Karlsson. Hopefully he won’t push things.

Leafs make the playoffs for the first time in 137 years. (ETA: Or so it seems.)

Actually Reimer is looking really good. This could be interesting.

Holy shit. I only just now figured out your user name. It’s Leaf Fan. :smack:

Duh!

I was always pronouncing it and parsing it as a single word, saying something like “Leefin” in my head.

Caps clinch the SE.

The Islanders have also clinched a playoff berth. AND if all goes well in the next few games, the CBJ will be in as well while knocking out the Wings for the first time since the Stanley Cup was forged in the fires of Mount Doom.

It truly is the end times.

I hate to cheer them on but I really, really need the Kings to come through and beat Detroit tonight.
