I’m going to tonight’s Sharks-Ducks game. Should be a good game. If the playoffs started now, it would be the #2-#7 matchup in the Western Conference.
GO SHARKS!

Well The wings get their 100th point(no thanks to a pathetic shit sandwich by the refs). A bit less good looking with all the three point games nowadays, but still a great streak. .
Huge game tomorrow between Buffalo and Carolina. If Carolina wins, they leapfrog the Rangers and tie Buffalo. If Buffalo wins, they’re pretty much home free and in the playoffs.
The Habs have eliminated the New Jersey Devils from the play-off race, which is awesome, because the Devils are a bit of an Achilles Heel for the Habs, but also sucks, because I kind of like the Devils (there’s a Québecois awe/worship thing for Brodeur going on here…!)
Mathieu Darche - a guy who was undrafted and signed his first one-way contract at the age of 33 - scored 2 goals tonight, has 12 on the season (nearly half his career total) with a total of 24 points. For the league minimum salary, I think the Habs are getting their money’s worth!
Darche is interesting; he’s a hard worker and loves playing for his childhood favourite team, that much is clear. But he’s also educated (as are other players, I’m aware); he has a degree from McGill University that he earned while playing for the Redmen. He’s really a Québecois everyman, and I think he should be an inspiration to lots of kids who are thinking they want to give up school for hockey. It bugs me that (AFAIK) the NHL has no minimum education requirements, unlike other professional sports leagues, and I think Darche shows that it is possible to do both (sure, he’s no Crosby, but I think the point stands). And I love that he supposedly says before every game, Awaye, let’s go!
According to the website sportsclubstats.com, the Habs win over the Devils gives them a 99.3% chance of making the playoffs. They’ll probably be the sixth seed, unless they can’t win one of their last three.
It’s Aprilnow.
Also, Bill MacCreary refereed the last game of his career today; the Sabres against the Capitals.
He refereed the second-most regular season games, the most playoff games, the most Stanley Cup Final games, and he refereed the Olympic gold medal games of '98, '02 and '10.
