NHL: March 2012

Yeah, it rings a bell of an entire era in the NHL when refs were more lax about calling restraining fouls and every team took advantage of it… what’s your point?

It was neither cheating, blatant or otherwise, nor exclusive to any one team, least of all the Devils.

I figured that with the uncalled for and completely unnecessary snarky comment you had something specific in mind; I’m disappointed. What’s next, a lame attendance joke, an off-handed comment about how NJ smells and an ignorant rant about how the Devils single-handedly killed scoring in the NHL for a decade and a half?

Of course. When our teams screw up, it’s because they’re nothing but thugs. When YOUR team does it, it’s someone else’s fault, or it was “a long time ago”. Please.

So much wrong with this whiny attempt at a pile-on that I’m not even sure where to start.

How is being one team of many that clutched and grabbed during an era of hockey in which it was expected and allowed “screwing up” or cheating? Please explain this because I think if you actually took a second to think about it you’d realize how stupid it sounds. Then again, based on your previously displayed inability to properly process information, you may not.

Ohhhh, I get it, this is a delayed response to your Claude Lemieux reference from last week. Right, we’re back to this pathetic defense of douchebags like Matt Cooke. Someone calls out one of the Penguins for being dirty (thanks, Brooks Orpik, for providing yet another timely example) and you counter with bringing up Claude fucking Lemieux from 17 years ago as if A) a dirty player on another team from nearly two decades ago (or any day since) somehow excuses the actions of the player being discussed or B) I’ve ever defended Claude Lemieux or claimed the Penguins were the only team with a dirty player in the history of ever.

I’ve never claimed my favorite team is/was/always will be perfect angels, and regardless of whether they are or aren’t has absolutely no bearing on observations I might make about the actions of players on other teams, so hop on down off of your high horse, Deflection.

What is it with Pittsburgh fans and their strange mixture of an overdeveloped sense of entitlement and their persecution complex?

This is a personal attack. Might I remind you this isn’t the Pit.

Do NOT do this again.
