Hockey’s back!! Well, something that looks sort of like it. Squads of half veteran players and half rookies, poor passing, timing off, rookies learning they can’t muscle their way to the goal like they did in the lower leagues.
And Cam Ward is starting poorly as usual.
Highlight of the preseaon: First intermission, Mites on Ice competition, white goalie makes a nice save and is selected as “mite of the night”. For his interview, he’s asked which Caps player he’d like to play with and selected Ovie (as about 95% do). When asked how many of Ovie’s shots he’d stop he confidently asserted “All of them”.
It doesn’t take much to be the highlight of the preseason.
