Man, am I stoked for this year. First year in 4 I think the Red Wings can be real contenders, and I can’t wait till the regular season puck drops.
No more Babcock makes the whole thing pretty interesting, especially with him going to an interdivision clusterfuck
But I don’t see anyone much ahead of the pack in the east , the Conference is up for grabs. If the Wings can avoid injuries, and the kids grow more than the geezers deteriorate, and Green brings the long missing power play blue line shot, it could be a very good year.
The Blackhawks are going to be quite interesting. I’m laser focused on Corey Crawford. All goalies can be streaky but the bad Corey just about cost the Hawks the first round of the playoffs. The West is so strong that it would be nice to have Crawford steal a game or two
I think we’re gonna see some major chemistry between Crosby and Kessel – there’s talk of putting them on a line together with Kunitz. If the team can stay healthy, and Fleury has a year like he did last (he was the only GOOD part of last season), we’re in for good times. (I’d rather not see Zatkoff as back up – he sucks.)
I just want to say thank to the people at Player Safety. Nice job in giving Raffi Torres a 41 game suspension. It is long past time that repeat offenders got more than a slap on the wrist.
The Blue Jackets are getting some local preseason buzz, which is quite the rarity around here. They’re usually 3rd class citizens to OSU football and OSU basketball in this town. But there’s reason for excitement this year. The CBJ led the league in man games lost to injury last season, so hopefully they can stay healthy and make a playoff run.
Dylan Larkin made the Wings. I don’t know if that happens under Babcock. Final Pro roster plus IR has 4 Michigan guys, wasn’t like that in the old days
