Anyone wanna hold off until something breaks in this war? (To avoid people traveling and getting stopped at the boarder?)
Seeing as that more people are showing an interest this time, I will probably need help with planning. Last time was so off the cuff because of the lesser numbers and it worked well with a small crowd, and I really don’t know the area that well. (IE: Making reservations et al.)
July 11, 2003 is our 5th wedding anniversary.
Oh, wait…(looks at left hand). Guess it would have been, though. Ah, I’d probably be wanting to be with a lot of Dopers anyway! Looking forward to it!
Oooh. I’m going to be living in Rochester, NY this summer, which is close enough for a hop to Niagara… and I would love to be able to make even a token appearance at a Dopefest. Plus, July 12 is the 2 year anniversary of my mother’s death, and since we scattered her ashes over the Falls… (shhh, don’t tell anyone, they really don’t like ya doing stuff like that) 'twould be fabulous to be there at that time…
I don’t know if I would be able to do the whole casino thing, though. What are Canada’s gambling laws? I’m only 19. :o But put me down as vaguely interested but unable to plan so far ahead.
I’ll be there if the date is known far enough in advance. I notice there seems to be plenty of eating involved. The Falls are pretty close to Clifton Hill, aren’t they?
19 is the age for all that stuff in Ontario.
You have to be 19 to go into a casino in Ontario (that’s the drinking age here, as well).

Yes indeed- last year Jadis and I spent time walking Clifton Hill and went to the Ripleys Believe it or Not museum and such. The hotel we stayed at was a short walk to a casino shuttle that drove you right into town, which was great, too.
It’s still looking very doable for me. I’ll be so glad! Last year I felt kind of sad thinking it might be the last time I go there or the last time I saw my Canuk friends (with moving to NC and all). I hope I can pull this off!
I don’t think that’s really going to be a huge issue. As long as you have the proper papers (as outlined in the link you gave above), there should be no problem going from the US to Canada, especially to a tourist attraction. (IMHO)
My Fringe Festival stuff ends in June, so July 11th works for me 
I’m still trying to talk the SO into it. If not, I may need to hitch a ride with someone…if possible.
This is, of course, if funds permit. We’ll see what kind of state I’m in then.
I’ll be coming from Kitchener, so you’re ‘on the way’ for us. We can pick ya up.

My goal is to try and keep it as loose as possible. (Don’t want to force people to do something they don’t want. But if the crowd gets any bigger, we will need to make a reservation for a dinner. (At ND1, we only had a handful and were able to sit at the bar.)
We stopped at TGIFridays at the end of the night and that was a hoot.
But it’s open to suggestion.

For those arriving Friday evening, talk amongst yourselves for plans. I don’t see many, if any, people arriving at that time.
Saturday:
We all meet up at about noon or so. I suggest meeting at the Hard Rock Cafe at the south entrance of the Casino. (Last year, we arranged to meet up at the casino entrance…there are two of those…and I did a lot of running around.
We can then grab a bite to eat.
There is the Pizza Pizza on Clifton Hill that we went to last time. Open air patio and it can accommodate a large group.
From there, we can split up and do individual activates. (See the falls, head up the Skylon tower…drink beer…:))
We can hit the Casino later in the after noon for a few hours. (And meet up with those that may head straight there.)
Then Dinner at about 5 or 6…then the drinking! 
As mentioned above, TGIFridays looked good, but there is the Hard Rock or Planet Hollywood. (We can hit any of the latter is someone wins big. :P)
After that, if we are coherent, we can hit my hotel room and for a night cap like last time.
Sunday:

Just when you thinking you are making headway, thge ground falls out from under yuor feel.
July 11th is not turning out to be so good after all. It’s my mum birthday. (And some others have come to me and told me it’s no good for them either.)
Looks like we need another date folks. 
Well…seeing as that I won’t even be able to make it for July 11th, we have two options, sracp it, or push it back again.
Last time he had it, it was in September. (People seem to be less busy then.)
September works for me.
More time to convince the SO that my Doper friends aren’t a bunch of weird internet people. (He can find out the truth later )
September won’t work for me, as I’ll be back at school by then, but I wasn’t too sure about going anyways, so you guys can go ahead and have it without me, I’ll try to find another Dopefest sometime.
