Thanks, Nzinga ! you are correct.
Was there really any serious chance that the Aurora shootings would in any way reflect negatively on Christian Bale?

No, gotta . For pedants, it’s not a choice.

Movies aren’t released on the same day all over the world. The USA isn’t the only country on the planet. There are release dates through the end of August. Today is opening day in Belgium, France, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland.
I thought it was being rolled out more slowly than that.
Yes. He obviously was not prepared.

I have no idea if he’s a douche or a paragon of pure, unadulterated human decency, (never seen any of his work) but in my opinion, to think he showed up with absolutely no thought of getting some good PR and some much-needed positive attention for his new moovie seems a bit naive to me, but I realize that is just my personal opinion, and I am certainly under no illusion that Mr. Bale gives a mollyfock what I think about him…
I will give him credit that unless I missed it, he didn’t feel it necessary to give some huge speech in Aurora or go on talk-shows to talk about visiting the survivors. That’s why I’m in the non-self-serving camp.

I get that, you don’t have to pass your user name along to me. But Sampiro ’s sarcasm seemed to say that if Bale is right for visiting the hospital, then the rest of the cast must be wrong for abstaining.
My point is, I don’t see the point in bringing the rest of the cast into it at all. The fact that he and the rest of the cast made different decisions doesn’t have to mean that anybody made a wrong decision.
Clearly, you did not get it.
