Christian Bale arrested for assaulting his mother and sister!

Apologies if this is mentioned in the DARK KNIGHT threads- I only looked for titles on the specific incident. I’m intentionally avoiding the DK threads until I see the movie.

It looks like Christian won. (Why do Christians beat their women?)

As a show of support and solidarity, Michael Caine and Maggie Gyllenhaal beat their own moms and sisters at the same hotel after the premiere. (Wasn’t in the press, but I have sources.)
Maybe this will teach those bitches to stop calling him “bat boy” and pulling out those nude shots from American Psycho every time company comes over. (I always thought it would be Jon Lovitz who would get into a fight with Christian Bale.)

The poster headline on the Evening Standard’s newstands in London tonight was simply:

"Police Arrest Batman"

Some newspaperman is chuffed with themselves today for having seized the once-in-a-career chance there.

I’m sure everyone is looking forward to heaping scorn on him.

A situation like this is truly pee on the Bale.

I heard it was really Aaron Eckhart who assaulted Bale’s mom & sister, but Bale took the fall for him, much to everyone’s surprise.

Supposedly it was only verbal abuse, though.

You can go to jail for slinging verbal abuse at your family?

Damn. My family (me included) would have been on death row 30 years ago.

I wonder if it was one of those drive-by arguments Britain is famous for.

Awesome! You can get arrested for harsh language in the UK? That may be the only country my mother would be safe in, then. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, Cornelieus…I DISAGREE!

Was Bale prepared for the verbal altercation?

Sorry…

I have to say I would be really disappointed to learn that Bale is some kind of bad-tempered, unhappy kind of guy. He has always seemed very low-key, polite and gracious in interviews and at premieres, very much the “Yes, I do these weird movie roles but at home I’m just a husband and father – thank goodness my wife puts up with me” thing.

But the press accounts don’t really tell us anything. (And good on the British press for being so circumspect. And how nice of the police to not embarrass him on the day of his movie premiere – did they suspect it was all nonsense and say, “Look, we have to follow up but we can do this later.”?) How do we know it was only verbal abuse? “Lashed out” could mean physical violence. How do you get arrested for verbal abuse? Your family calls the police and says, “Help! He’s yelling and swearing at us! Arrest him!”

Or maybe his mother and sister are harridans and thoroughly unpleasant? He’s the youngest kid and was a child actor – maybe his mom is one of those awful showbiz moms and Bale is exhausted dealing with her. Maybe his sister is unwell in some way and makes stuff up.

Okay, I have no idea what I’m talking about. I’ll stop now.

Arrested but not convicted.. Apparently UK cops arrest you then question you. He went along to explain. Also, I’ve heard he’s not at all close to his family.

Uhhhhhh

Feel free

Bale is a pretty private guy–has anyone done a really in-depth interview with him? He has always impressed me as a thoughtful, considerate person. Since he’s human, he may have said or done something in the heat of the moment. I know I have.

Bit strained here. The Colorado judge awards it a three.

Holy assault and battery!

This is nothing. I heard he once bludgeonned a man to death over a business card.

More importantly, will his grandmother show up for the sequel?

I’ll get in the handbasket now.

I don’t get it.
