Nick Cave: "Into My Arms"

I think he’s purposely contradicting himself for the sake of the love he feels for her.

That’s the way I read it, anyway.

Thanks

Wikipedia calls it “melancholic optimism.” Nick isn’t known for his optimism; his lyrics can be very dark and this one is comparatively an upper. He also played it at Michael Hutchence’s funeral.

As in; the love he feels is his only experience to have transcended everyday human reality, thereby almost allowing the existence of the supernatural?
