I always thought it was odd that in each movie, the clothing, hairstyles, cars, etc. are clearly those of the period the movie was filmed in, but each movie is supposed to take place soon after the one before it ends.
The Omen trilogy does this, too, but in reverse. The films take place decades apart, but were filmed in the space of about six years with no noticable change in clothing, hairstyles, etc.
