Not the highest cuisine, but inquiring minds want to know. Some Night Hawk (brand of frozen TV dinners) are accompanied by what they label “gravy” while other offerings have “steak sauce” on them.
Based on the menu at the late Frisco Shop in Austin(final outpost of the Night Hawk restaurant chain), the ‘steak sauce’ was something more like garlic butter, while the gravy was straight up brown gravy.
From what I recall about the TV dinners, they were very similar.
Turns out, this was the right answer. I sent a mssg to the manufacturer, and got a prompt reply:
" … we always like hearing from our customers. Our gravy is a brown gravy that we put with quite a few of our beef patty meals. The steak sauce is a garlic butter sauce…"
If I was in their marketing dept. I’d add “garlic butter sauce” to the packaging for those items! Damn, dude, lost revenue opportunity.
