I guess these aren’t regular popups because my Pop-up blocker doesn’t stop them. They are loud, annoying and seemingly appear on every sports related page on the web.

Have you tried switching your browser to a decent one like Mozzila/Firebird or Opera?? I use Firebird, and I NEVER get pop-ups. Also, the tabbed browsing rocks, and unlike that POS Internet Explorer, these browser proberly display CSS style sheets and *.png files.
However, Firebird doesn’t do spellchecks though.
