My D90 has HD video capabilities. s there free software that can make so I can use it as a webcam on an HP netbook with an Atom processor running Windows 7?
Is there software that can make the netbook show the show what is on the screen of the camera?
While it may be possible, it’s a bad idea. Constant video will overheat the D90 sensor which isn’t meant for sustained video.
A search shows that this has been asked in multiple Nikon forums, and no one has reported getting it set up.
The D90’s HDMI connector outputs a 720P signal. There’s no way you are going to be able to use anywhere near that resolution for a webcam. Just get your self a cheap dedicated camera.
OK. you got me looking. Looks like TetherPro does what I’m actually looking to do; although it’s not a webcam enabler.
