“Cite?” is the accepted method of asking someone to prove their assertion. No further wording is neccesary.
Besides, in this situation “Cite?” should be considered a command like “Silence” or “Sit.”
Which should have a comma after ‘sentences.’ The alternative is to write the following.
‘Please use complete sentences.’
This does not require a comma.
