It looks to me like Cohen was dishonest about fundraising for both Progress Media and Gloria Wise. His dishonesty and incompetence results in his demise a year ago. Yet, the new owners of Air America still agree (in writing) to pay off the amount of the loan to Gloria Wise even though they are not obligated. So the big scandal is…what? If anything, the new owners of Air America seem pretty cool.
If Cohen was legally an agent of Air America, noone can legally argue that it isn’t “obligated” to repay the theft. It is obligated to repay same as it stole from club, by way of agent. On top of that, is paying the money back interest free, so far, which is questionable, to say the least.
Why don’t you contact the prosecutor for the jurisdiction in question, and ask why the “theft” wasn’t prosecuted. Report back. We await, breathlessly.
They can and have argued that. Air America didn’t borrow the money, Progress Media did. Progress Media doesn’t exist anymore, and even though they weren’t the ones who borrowed the money, Air Ameirca’s new parent company, Piquant LLC, is STILL paying it back. If I told you that you have to repay money owed by the person who lived in your house before you did, you’d probably say that was absurd.
Where did you come to the conclusion that Air America stole this money? How do you read and type with your head up your ass?

Actually, if you read the statement, all it says is that they agreed to reimburse the club. There’s no mention there that the club has been reimbursed fully at this time.
A distinction with a difference, as we all know. I agreed to fully reimburse my auto financing company and my mortgage company last fall, but I haven’t gotten to the last payment in either book yet.

If the club is satisfied, then what is the story here?

lindacohen, you are grasping for straws here. What is your political persuasion by the way? Are you a Bush ball-licker? Are you feeling the weight of the corruption of the current administration so you are finding anything to implicate those who do not share your beliefs?
The club is not be the only party seeking satisfaction, considering that grant money was pulled from the club due to gross fiscal mismanagement concerning these loans. At the very least, the City of New York needs to be satisfied, and other government bodies may need to be as well.
Then, Mr. Moto, I assign you the task of finding out what these government bodies feel about this event. Go on. Return shortly with some information.
