I guess I need a little help understanding how this works.
I have a Firestick, from which I stream YouTubeTV, Amazon Prime, and Netflix. No cable.
I would like to view the History Channel and A&E. I am able to download the apps to the TV, but when trying to sign up they ask me to input my “TV provider”. There is a list of many providers (ATT U-Verse, Comcast, etc.) from which to select.
I am stuck at this point, since I have none of the above. Am I out of luck?
Thanks,
mmm
Out of luck, those are pay channels that would allow you to also stream if you already have a subscription. Even if your parents have cable and can do it, and you set up your Fire TV with their account info, it doesn’t really work as it requires some check in log-ins, which are annoying when you do have the pay for service, but would require assistance from them each time if you are borrowing their account.
But if you want those channels you can check out Philo, Sling TV, and many others that offer a pay for service that gets you those channels. Cost ranges from $16-40 per month. Philo is the cheaper entry along with one of the 2 ATT services.
Thanks, **kanic **- that’s what I figured.
