No cost vehicle repair, YEE HAAA

Last Saturday the check engine light popped on while driving my Chevy Silverado. The truck also went into limp mode, a warning on my dash said engine power had been reduced. Took it to the dealer to find out what was wrong. The diagnosis was a malfunctioning engine control module. My first thought was I am glad for the warranty I bought for the truck, it’s a 2014 with only 35,000 miles. My last Chevy, a 2006 Equinox, cost me quite a bit in repairs while I owned it. Didn’t want to go through that with the truck. Then the service writer gave me a nice surprise, Chevy has a current recall going on the ECM’s and the repairs would be made at no cost to me. They also through in a free oil change the next time I need one. Picked up the truck yesterday afternoon. If I had to pay for the repair, it would have been $2316.83 plus tax. Feels nice walking out of the dealer with a repair receipt that has the cost shown as $0.

It only cost you time. How unusual and well worth celebrating.

How convenient, we’ve been attempting to contact you about your auto warranty…
