Most of the time I think that it would come across much better if he stuffed the towel in his mouth.

Some of the boats are bigger than others. A large boat can have a bad season and still pull numbers that would look impressive otherwise.

His quick temper is only part of the problem. He has yet to give a speech to anyone that isn’t all about him. He has yet to show any kind of management skills whatsoever. He looks for scapegoats & people to take his frustration on, then tries to act like their best friend when things go well. When he and his brother get into altercations, his brother is always the one making sense.

On top of that, it was obvious that they creatively edited the Moi situation last year to try and make Keith look like the good guy, but they still failed miserably.

If I have to hear him say something about how this is “his boat & his money on the line” one more time, I may throw a cookie at the television.

I think its due to the new quota system. Boats have a certain amount of crab assigned to them, and they can stay out until they reach their quota. But it’s better all around to get your quota quickly - less wear on the boat, less fuel used, less dead loss etc. IIRC they said the CM was out for 50 days. That’s probably why they tossed in the scene last week where they show 3 of the boats still working, and the Hillstrand brothers sport fishing in Mexico.

You’re insulting Mike Rowe? I demand satisfaction. Sheep castrators and turkey inseminators at dawn.

Especially when he’s bitching out Monty for not waking him because they spotted walruses.

Exactly. I think it was last season that a greenhorn was about to get into a fight with someone else on his boat, and he’s sitting up in the wheelhouse watching the tempers flare, and says something like, “If he throws a punch he’s going home. I hope someone tells him that that’s the way things are on my boat.” Um, hello! YOU are their boss; YOU tell them! Are they just supposed to magically know that that’s beyond the pale for you? Horrible, horrible manager.
