"NO FEAR" on Pakistani Police Uniforms

In this “New York Times” article http://www.nytimes.com/2001/09/19/international/19CND-PAK.html there’s a photo of Pakistani police standing guard. “NO FEAR” is written on the back of their uniforms.

Can anyone explain why this is written in English and/or how long it has been on their uniforms.

The article doesn’t mention the police except to say that they’re part of an elite unit standing watch as Palistani demonstrators denounce their government’s cooperation with with the U.S.

I don’t see it. Either you posted the wrong link or they changed the picture.

Same story, different pictures. Before there was only one picture (of the police,) now there are three - Embassy guards, Pakistani protestors and General Musharraf.

It’s not that big of a deal, I was just curious as to the police uniforms and why they used an English phrase.
