No Instant Advice of Subscribed Threads

I stopped my instant emailing when there were replies to a subscribed thread.

I didn’t like that and have gone back and changed all my subscriptions to instant email advice.

Doesn’t like me doing that and I still get no advice.

I am using Firefox (latest update). have tried clearing caches.

Any ideas?

I know this is the obvious question, but after you get the notification, do you go back to the board and check the thread? The thread subscription message says that you won’t receive any more updates until the next time you read the thread.

Yes, i’ve done that.

However, I thought the message said you need to visit the forum, not the thread.

Anyway Marley, you have solved the problem. I went looking for an old message and found the “new” subscriptions are now going to gmail spam tray.

Problem solved. Thanks.

Glad I could accidentally help.

For the record…I hate this behavior. I don’t check SDMB form the office, but often like to know what’s going on in a thread. Although I can’t respond to questions and provide feedback, sometimes the information is good to have.

Is this the only behavior vBulletin provides, or is there a way to configure it to send updates even if we don’t check the thread?

Nope. Once you’re notified one way or the other the system is like the Lone Ranger … “my work here is done.”

Only option we have on this side is to turn the function on and off globally; there’s nothing to adjust. Sorry.
