I was driving down a small road last night when I saw a sign that said “No litter zone” and some smaller text beneath it that I couldn’t read before I passed it up. Now, it’s my understanding that littering is illegal in all ‘zones’ so my question is why was there a sign saying that this area in particular was special?
I guess maybe the small text stated that fines were increased there, but I can’t be sure until I pass it again.
Actually, I think such areas are targeted for special enforcement, due to litter problems in the past. The fine might be higher, or the crime raised from an infraction to a misdemeanor, or something like that.
