No longer a rumor. ‘Twin Peaks’ Returns As Showtime Limited Series [merged threads, edited title]

Yeah, but those are city miles she’s got on her.

I can not wait.

{snip} And that ending - ugh! How cruel to do that to Agent Cooper. Hated hated hated it…

In defense of Frost & Lynch, they only intended the one season. The success of the first season made the ABC network press them for a second. The last episode that aired (on ABC) wasn’t meant to be the ending of the season, much less the series. It was just the last one ABC agreed to air (or allowed to be aired, I guess).

I’d like to know what other material F&L had at the time the show was cancelled (scripts, taped/filmed scenes) and if it was revealed and showed where F&L intended the storyline to go after Cooper’s possession.

I’ve heard grumblings that season 3 was supposed to focus more on the stuff that happened with the Major and the “aliens” or whatever.

The last episode was really one of the best episodes, IMO. But some of it was just Lynch being a petulant child. Lynch hated the direction the show had taken since he’d left, so he more or less intentionally ruined all of the likable characters’ lives. That said, every moment in the Black Lodge was utterly amazing, and if you can find a copy of the original script for the Twin Peaks S2 finale you’ll see that Lynch saved that pile of shit from the heap.

I’m kind of amazed that Laura Palmer was right when she said she’d see us again in 25 years.

I’m not sure if I’d prefer a re-launch or a 25 years later continuation/sequel. As long as Mark Frost and David Lynch make it, I’m on board 100%.

Maybe both. I could visualize a follow-on if the response is favorable. A Twin Peaks vibe could blow some of the dreck we’re subjected to nowadays right out of the water.

The sad part is that the loser networks who will throw anything against the wall wouldn’t waste any time going after the market with bilge even worse than we’re already seeing.

But just having TP around would be so fine! Wonder if they’ll get Kurt Sutter involved!

Lord, I’m not a prayin’ woman but if you can hear me please let Kyle MacLachlan be in this!

If that Asian lady comes out of the drawer knob she ended up in, it would be weird. Who was that actress?

Ooh yeah… He was one of my first actor crushes. :o

Last week I saw him on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Hopefully that will wrap up in time so he’d be available for the new Twin Peaks project.

FEH! Watch the Psych thing. Sherilyn Fenn made a nerdly hot librarian of an uncertain age.

You’ve utterly turned me off of Twin Peaks forever.

Joan Chen.

I saw it, and I must disagree. I don’t think she’s aged well at all.

I don’t think Sherilyn Fenn looks bad for 49.

Lara Flynn Boyle at 44, however, appears to have had some bad cosmetic surgery.

Someone on another forum posted a twitter screenshot of McLachlan saying, “Better fire up that percolator and dust off my black suit.”

It doesn’t really matter but Audrey was 18, not 16. Cooper asks her at The Great Northern how old she is.

I wonder if the Norwegians ever came back.

I hope David Bowie makes an appearance. I loved him in the movie looking at the monitor.

I guess I’ll have to check out the movie again. I hated it at the time but a lot of people seem to like it. I think my dislike may have been driven by my disappointment that it was a prequel rather than a resolution of the season 2 cliffhangers.

I just had the thought, I hope Ben and Jerry still talk about food.

Especially ice cream… and smoked cheese pigs.
