Frances Reid who played Days of our Life matriarch Alice Horton since the show’s beginning, has died at age 95.
Yes, I followed the show, and yes, I loved her.
I wonder what the show is doing about her? And when it will air? I haven’t watched in years, but I remember hearing not too long ago that she did still show up occassionally. That was my soap for a long time. I still remember when Macdonald Carey passed away. They were pretty classy with his death.
I was so sad when I heard about this. For years, she was like a substitute grandmother to me.
They just killed the character of Mickey (the actor is ill, but still alive). I don’t know how the writers will handle this.
Next year’s Horton family Christmas is doing to be saaaaad, when they hang up Alice’s ornament for her.

I needed a pic to remember who she was. I haven’t watched Days of Our Lives for years. I watch ABC instead…
My mom was very sad when she heard this, and she hasn’t watched the show since Marlena’s demon was excised. (which, checking wiki, was on July 18, 1995).
They mentioned “Gram” about fifty times during Mickey’s death and funeral, but she was never on camera.
I hope they do a tribute. She is the last actor to be on the show who was with it rom the begining.
