I think you are wildly overreacting. He died three tears ago and I think the odds of his family stumbling onto the SDMB are slim to none. This guy was fucked up from the get go, where were his parents then? Instead of lamenting his son’s suicide, maybe he could have been doing a suicide prevention PSA along with his son.

Pre 2013, his sister was so scared of him she had to lock herself in a room and call the police. I feel bad for her, not him.

What about the Boston Marathon victims and their families that he mocked by saying he would do better? Again, I feel bad for them, not for him.

Yeah, no kidding. It’s not like it’s impossible not to threaten people online or scare your sister so much she has to call the police if you have a mental illness. Tens of millions of Americans with mental illnesses manage their whole life without threatening people.

Perhaps this guy who you already know killed himself had particularly severe symptoms. But what do I know, I’m just a total asshole talking on the internet about the situation.

And maybe he didn’t have symptoms at all. Maybe he was just an asshole all around. Far as I know, nobody close to him has even said he had mental problems. The only problems we know he actually had were criminal ones. You can cast around for excuses for him if you want, I see no need to. He showed everybody who he was a long time before he died.
