This is what we have to look forward to in our Society without basic rights like Freedom of Speech. How can a judge disagree? Stupid is not a crime!
Reported. (Yes, I appreciate the irony.)
You’ll forgive me if I lack sympathy for someone whose defense consists of admitting that they skipped school and posted something that could be construed as a terrorist threat on the day of a major terrorist attack.
No it isn’t. And he hasn’t been found guilty of a crime.
Stupid may not be a crime but stupid will set you up for a whole load of shitsville like this guy gets.
My guess is mommy and daddy will deplete whatever funds they have to defend this dweeb, He’ll get to tell his other wigger friends that he’s been “in the joint” and maybe, just maybe, enough of the stupid wore off of him to keep him from publishing bomb threats on the internet any more.
I’ll hold my outrage for news of a conviction. Until then it’s just another example of society’s increasingly difficult role of trying to weed out the idiots from the terrorists.
I suspect the judge probably asked himself, “Is there probable cause to believe D’Ambrosio posted a credible threat to do violence?” And since credible threats of violence are not protected by the First Amendment, I suspect the judge decided that Freedom of Speech was inapplicable here.
It should be.
I have removed the link in the OP, to a petition, as being against theregistration agreement:
I’ll leave the thread open in case the OP can provide a link that explains this without calling for action, but will check back later and close if not.
They ought to lock that chump up just for being a bad Vanilla Ice wannabe, and calling himself “Cammy Dee”.
Sounds more like a barely legal pornstar than a hardcore thug rapper.
Since link was deleted, can I get a name with which I can do a google/news search to see what the outrage is about?
Here’s the Boston Herald story.
Thanks
I ran across this thread today while browsing. I was curious how the guy’s case turned out and googled his name. There turned out to be an interesting twist, so here’s a 3 year old update to a 9 year old thread.
The grand jury refused to indict, so he walked in 2013:
Then he died 6 years later at the age of 24:
“LMTLSS is more than just a clothing and media company. LMTLSS is a community for all people worldwide who are not afraid to break boundaries…” Like posting terrorist threats, I guess.
This is one of those times where I would like to know how he died. It’s too late for him to have won a Darwin Award, but he seemed the type to go out that way.
Suicide. Feel better now that you know?
I didn’t know him. Why would it make me feel anything? I never mentioned feelings about anything. Did it make you feel better to post that reply to me? If so, glad I could help you out. Let me know if I can help you further.
I didn’t get the response at first, but then I thought about your previous post for a bit. You wrote in your post that you thought he should have died by Darwin Award. That whole concept is a form of mockery, and it is understandable that someone may have found it offensive, especially if they were sympathetic to the guy. And that they would think you might feel bad for mocking him if you knew he died by suicide.
No. I said he seemed like the type, not that he should have Darwined himself. I also pointed out that it was too late as he already reproduced.
And, no, I don’t feel bad for mocking someone years after their death. Especially someone who wrote a song about how he could do better than the Boston Marathon bombers. Not to mention his criminal record before that. This guy had obvious problems long before he was arrested on the threat charges.
If TroutMan wants to come in and explain that this guy had been seeking medical treatment for the last ten years but nothing had worked, I may feel different. Nothing in any stories or his obit say anything about his long battle with mental problems. Heck, we don’t even know that he did commit suicide, only TroutMan’s short post.
I have no knowledge of what treatment he had, nor do I feel particular sympathy for him. I do feel sympathy for his family (you can google to find an interview with the father following his son’s death, if you need confirmation that it was suicide).
If one of my kids ever took their own life, I wouldn’t want to come across posts from someone saying they’d “like to know how he died” and speculating that it was probably due to his stupidity. Or I’d at least hope they felt a little bad upon learning the truth. Suicide isn’t a topic that lends itself to jokes or dismissive statements very well; there are too many people out there who have been personally affected by it.
Hopefully, your kids won’t make rap songs with bomb threats in them, subjecting them to much public derision and scrutiny.
