Maybe this is rather common in the Pit (i don’t come here often) but i’m seeing way too many “me too” replies in this forum… Every few threads someone says something that is offensive, and there comes a legion of people saying the exact same thing that could be basically boiled down to “I hate you, fuck you, you’re an idiot/asshole.” Those replies are rather annoying and a chore to scroll through… Usually if the person is a reasonable enough, one pointless insult reply is going to deliver the message and if he/she’s a troll, it’s just going to encourage him/her.
But maybe not venting defeats the whole purpose of The Pit? Well i know some of people are deeply by angered by the opinions of others (especially in a tough time like this), but i think when another person has said what you want to say for you, you don’t need to repeat it, especially all it boils down to is “fuck you”.
And “me too” replies often happen with praises too, rather than insults, but i think those are just fine and dandy.
This is simply my opinion, and if you disagree, please state your reasons rather than just saying “fuck you”.
You do realize, of course, that such a post waters the mouths of those that would pipe in with exactly the kind of response you hate. Over and over again. For a long time.
Anyway, this will not be one of those. I suspect that the reason you see these posts is 1)The OPer spelled it out so well that either his view is unassailable (Thus nothing more than “Fuck you!”) or there’s nothing else to say (Thus “I hear ya!”). It’s the same way with verbal conversation. Some people just aren’t cut out for debate, so they respond childishly.
You know there comes a time when a joke or a gag is repeated so many times, it loses its humor and becomes annoying and you want to scream, “For the love of God, I get it! Now stop it!”
But then again, I’m usually the smuck who comes in 10 minutes after this outbust occurs and repeats the same joke.
