Wow, what a game. 
I felt so bad for those poor Detroit fans they showed after the game. The crowd looked well…downright shocked. I don’t think anyone expected this. But you saw what Carolina did to Toronto last series in those OT matches. When I saw it go into overtime, my hopes immediately shot up. 7 - 1 in playoff OTs. Can’t argue with the statistics.

Today’s Raleigh News and Observer reprinted a column from the Hartford Courant which reported “Of those who were aware of the NHL playoffs, most were planning to root for the Canes. The principal reason is abiding respect and affection for Ron Francis, Captain Ron, Ronny Franchise, smart and smooth, was young when we were young. He’ll never have to buy a drink in Hartford for the rest of his lfe… So there’s mild support, and little bitterness, as the Canes play for the cup”.
You still see the occasional Whaler’s sweater. And every so often, the local sports station plays Brass Bonanza.

For those who care, the Red Wings won 3-2 in triple overtime Woohoo!
I’m so sick of the damn Wings, go Canes! My Islanders couldn’t do it, and I loved you for knocking Toronto, now just take out Detroit and I can sleep easy.
Wow…those triple OTs are going towear on both teams.
I think Detroit’s 4 lines are going to beat NC’s 3 lines.
