No Problem

I have lived in Australia all my life (31 years), and Sydney for the last 10 and I have never ever experienced no worries as a reply to a specific question.

I LOVE our “no worries”, “no problem”, “2 secs” vernacular. It’s cheery and friendly and cute.

I fought the ignorance, and the ignorance won. I’m going away now. No worries.

Daniel

Nor have I, and I’m a lot older than you.

My scenario with bb in the furniture store is a little bit different to the one he painted. I cannot for the life of me imagine him asking a specific question like “Does this come in blue?” without some long and convoluted preamble that probably got the poor sales-bloke all flustered, giving a ‘no worries’ reply with a bunch of    as well.

:stuck_out_tongue:

No. I just used the word in a very natural context. How could you come to your conclusion ?
Should I have said ‘I will’ instead ?

You fought your delusion and the delusion won…

Really, I have no idea what you are talking about.

You are ask me whether I am a native english speaker, and this is an example of what you write!
Were you in that furniture store? Wow. What a coincidence !
Why would you not be able to imagine someone asking a specific question about a chair? Do you have brain damage?

Holy crap, can’t you SHUT UP?! The multiple consecutive posts are not going to make you look like less of a dick, especially when you misunderstand everyone’s posts.

You were asked that because your writing skills are poor.

Your furniture store example is implausible.

Your reading comprehension is a bit on the shaky side.

Other than that, no worries.

Of course he misunderstands! No! Worries! Worries! No! Problem problem PROBLEM!

You should talk, Sparky.

No. He can’t imagine you asking a cut and dry, specific question about a chair. After reading this thread, neither can I.

There are a few people on the boards here that have quibbles, problems and maybe pet-peeves concerning language use and misuse.
Lynn Truss made a lot of money with her anger at the misuse of apostrophes. I wish I could do that.
What amazes me is that there are many people that get very worked up about the people who do not like language misuse. Up goes the cry - ‘GRAMMAR NAZIS !’
Why do you get so worked up? Do you think we people protesting about language misuse get so worked up? I do not.
I dislike some language misuse and I also dislike Ice Hockey. It is no big deal.
I am not the OP. I would not have started a pit rant about language misuse. I just wanted to put in my 2 cents into this discussion.

You have many choices in life. One is not to read this thread.

Thanks, I’m forever grateful for your Zen-like response.

Not really. I live here as well, which is why I know you’re an idiot.

Since you are making an issue out of it, please tell me how my writing skills are poor. Is it the way I hold the pencil? Are there numerous spelling mistakes? Are there numerous mistakes in grammar? Do you just not like the style of prose?
What evidence do you have that there is any problem with my reading comprehension?

What do you call responding rudely to someone whose only offense is what YOU perceive as a misuse of language?

I have no idea what you are talking about.
You live in Australia. Congatulations !

I have only been rude to people that have been rude to me here. So, you must not be talking about me. As I said, I do not get worked up about language misuse. Maybe others do.

There’s that reading comprehension issue again. No, you thick-headed numbskull, I’m referring to your first post in this thread wherein you say:

However you may choose to spin it, that is rude.

No that is not my ‘reading comprehension issue’. It is your lack in writing by not making it clear.
I did not really mean that I annoy people by saying ‘Why would there be a problem?’ I am fairly sure the people are not annoyed. Were you?
I just want them to actually think about the words they are using.

You are being rude to me with your pathetic name-calling. But you should realise that you cannot insult me. So try to insult me. I do like insulting people that try to insult me or that are rude to me, because I know those people can be insulted.
I cannot be insulted because I accept everything about myself. I cannot be insulted because I do not care about you or your opinion of me.
I recommend to everyone to make yourself insult-resistant.
