Have I just been amazingly unobservant the last two weeks or has there really been no discussion of the new Simpsons episodes the last two weeks? Have people just given up or is the standard “worst. episode. ever.” sentiment just assumed now? Personally I thought both the episodes were pretty good, among the best of the season which admittedly isn’t saying a tremendous amount. Thoughts? Discussion? Random quotes posted in an effort to appear witty despite quotes being only a regurgitation of someone else’s wit?

The last two weeks have been pretty damn funny IMO.
I didn’t like yesterday’s episode. It had its moments, but the episode didn’t have an underlying theme or a consistant plot.
But it was far funnier than that. From memory, it was:

I had to pause the Tivo I was laughing so hard at that. “Dude”. Priceless.
I believe we did have a small one last week. That was the cowboy one, right?
They could have made the whole episode about Homer and his walking. … That’s about all I got.
The whole episode wasn’t about Walking Homer?!
I just liked the part where Jackson Browne said he would play a song off his new album and everybody groaned.
What was up with the “George & Martha” bit? I didn’t understand who they were supposed to be. (Certainly not the Washingtons, right??)

This past week’s was funny… sometimes I wish they had 40 minutes or something instead of 30. It’s tough for them to find a plot that doesn’t strikingly resemble something they’ve already done and then resolve it in only half an hour (really about 22 minutes). Still, there were some very good jokes in there. “The world’s finest French… I mean, American busboys.” 
George and Martha were Dennis the Menace’s neighbors.
Oh, now I remember! I LOVED that bit!
I liked the mailman/“Twilight Zone” bit–but I didn’t see the second one last night yet so I can’t comment further…
