No Stealth Bragging in This Thread

I know where you can find the most beautiful bass clarinet on the island of Montreal. I happen to own it!

Congratulations, Maggie.

Earlier this week my wife and I celebrated the birth of our first grandchild.

Go on, try to beat that.

Never mind, Maggie just did.

Congratulations!

I always wanted to get my pregnant wife a T-shirt that said, “My name is Legion; for I contain multitudes,” but I think that only works if you’re having twins.

Kudos to all who have bragged so far!

I sell my jewelry at a wearable art fashion show that’s an annual fundraiser for the Cleveland Museum of Art. I opened my mail a couple of weeks ago, and it contained the promo cards for the event. Featured on the front is a piece of my jewelry!

Not only that, but someone who received the card contacted me and wanted to buy the bracelet pictured. (Alas, it sold months ago, but I now have a nice custom order to fulfill!)

As of this morning, I have lost 40lbs so far this year.

Doesn’t that kind of recognition just make your year?

Not that you’re looking for it, or even expecting it, it’s when you know you love what you do, despite any drudgery, and go out of your way to do it right and go beyond expectations, because you just care and respect your work (and anyone dirctly involved) enough to be resourceful and raise the bar, if only for yourself.

So congrats, WhyNot. You can dress my festering, bone-deep wounds any day. God forbid.

Myself? My kid got me a World’s Best Dad mug for Father’s Day. I didn’t even know there was a consortium that examined that sort of status, and out of, like 3 billion father’s on this planet… I’m the best. I would’ve preferred a cash prize though. But hey! Coffee!

Curse you! I was SURE I was gonna win it this year!

O, wow olivesmarch4th; I am so glad you are feeling better.

I have many beautiful tomatoes in my garden, and the best husband in the whole world.

After 9 months of pregnancy I gave birth to a lovely baby girl in November and found that I had actually lost 30 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. Now, almost 8 months later, I haven’t gained back a single pound. Losing and maintaining weight is very difficult for me so I am excited to see the numbers staying the same.

Fantastic!!!

We sold the house for what we wanted for it.

We bought the third house we saw, during the cooling off period for the first house. The new house is fantastic - solar, rainwater tanks, every single thing we wanted.

And I’m keeping up with full time work and a full time class load without crying very often.

I interviewed for an entry level position at a huge international company this week. It’s less money than I am making now, but it gets me out of my job that I hate. The new company offered me a much better job with a guided career path to take over the local branch over the next year or so. I gave my notice on Thursday.

Hmm…I think I’m a better speller than most. Yay me!

Nothing to brag about myself, but well done, WhyNot.

Good Thread! Congratulations and kudos to everyone.

Today was our best day ever at the deli. We hear the words “Best Reuben/French Dip I’ve ever had”, all day long. We are converting people that don’t like potato salad into addicts. It is quite gratifying, even if it isn’t yet profitable. I’m having a great time.

I just posted in MPSIMS! I’m very proud of this.

I finished a contract project in March and picked up another one within a week. After finishing that one (with mega-kudos from the project owner), I took a three-week vacation and came back to find that the original folks want me back and three contract houses want to place me in lead roles for other projects. My recession is over!

Was the potato salad…
…not what you’d expect?

Oh yeah!

(Congratulations on the delicious sounding deli!)

Thanks LHOD.
