So I have a lot less money that I thought I would now. And I have no credit.
This means I can’t go out and get that new MacBook Pro I had my eyes on, to replace my home desktop computer (whose mainboard is fried). I therefore can’t do my house-design work on the computer like I was planning, and take it around to see people. I am going to have to scrape up enough money to make simple repairs to the desktop, which will involve replacing mainboard, processor, memory, and video card.
And after that, I have to rebuild the boot drive and reinstall Windows. It was problems with Windows that I first noticed, and caused me to want to get a Mac.
Meanwhile I’m going my drawings and math the old-fashioned way, on paper, and by pencil, calculator, and photocopier, like I did in architecture school (in 1891-2, we were just barely pre-CAD) and high school. At least this means I understand the principles, rather than just taking precalculated numbers and drawings off the screen…
This also means I won’t be going to Japan in August. Maybe I’ll still make Calgary in the summer. Maybe.
Bother.
I’m kinda depressed about the whole thing.
At least I am going to Montreal on the May long weekend. Those tickets have laready been purchased.
I now know what business people mean when they say ‘undercapitalised’.
