Yeah, the enthusiasm bothers me, but Trump’s fandom of Russia is so bizarre (as well as his disdain for facts) that nothing would surprise me. If there’s fire behind the smoke, it might not come out without a big goofy public hubbub.

Run with this story as hard as you can. If evidence comes out later demonstrating it’s conclusively false, keep running with it. Bring it up constantly. Use it as a rebuttal to everything, regardless of how absurdly out of context. Hold hearings on it. Lots of hearings, over and over and over. Doesn’t matter if they all reach exactly the same conclusion. It’s not the answer that matters, it’s the show.
That’s how you win elections in this country. Truth? Truth is for losers. Literally.
A person who says these things should not be a moderator on the SDMB.
I think that maybe Robert Reich’s alleging that Trump may owe million to, and therefore be in the pockets of, several Russian oligarchs should worry you people a bit more than his sexual escapades in Russia. Really.

I’ve said before that Trump could piss on his supporters and they’d not only think it was raining, but they’d crow about how Trump was so classy that he pissed gold.
Hillary tried to warn us about his trickle down economics.
And he did tell us that he would bring back “a lot worse than waterboarding”.
