No till, little work Purple Hull peas. I'm giving this a try.

This is just too easy not to try. :stuck_out_tongue: If you live in gardening Zones 8 or 9.

No gardening bed needed. No tilling, no hoeing, just some watering. Wow!

Gosh I love a pot of fresh shelled purple hull peas and ham.

Read through this. Could it be any easier? The photos show that he gets good results.

Blackeyed peas and purple hulled peas are just about the most easy and foolproof things to grow in zones 8 and 9, save okra, which is absurdly prolific,

Just keep your pea plants watered, and you should be ok. If you want to do something to make sure they do well, get some inoculant to make sure they have enough of the right kinds of bacteria for their nitrogen fixing root nodules.

I’ll order that inoculant from Burpee. Thanks!

I’m 200 miles North of Louisiana. Will need to plant earlier than the guy in Louisiana. I’ll check around and see when Arkansas folks plant purple hulls.

Here in N. Texas (still mostly S. of Arkansas), I could probably plant right now, and they’d sprout just fine, but like squash, don’t really get rolling until it warms up some.
