No. VA dopers

Thanks, JC: then MAD I am and proud of it.

This corner of NC seems more like a rural appendage of the Hampton Roads area, anyway!

the booming metropolis of Dumfries, VA where it’s been all downhill since 1769.

State Department. Nominally Consular Affairs, but they’re sending me to do a political officer job. Should be fun, what with the twenty-year civil war and 35000 landmines.

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

MADs checking in, but I’ve only been to Virginia twice. Both for very short periods of time. Weirddave and I reside in Havre de Grace, MD.

Vienna, VA … actually like half a mile from Neidhart.

Grew up in Vermont, living in NoVa now.

We lived in King George, VA for 3 years (20 miles east of Fredericksburg) - I miss that area so much! I’ll be a MAD in about 2 years (actually 22 months) - living a bit south of RTF in beautiful California, MD.

Counting the days till I can leave the hell that is northeast Florida…

Centreville, VA here

Born and put in 25 years of hard time in Tucson, AZ

Yeah, Richmonder checking in. There are a couple of other Richmond-area Dopers, but I’ve only met one of 'em and he’s going to school in another state now. I think for the most part we don’t like to admit we’re from Richmond…not as cool as the NoVaDopers, and not as laid-back as the Hampton Roads (Hampton, Norfolk, Newport News) people.

I wish I’d have known you guys when I was in DC :frowning:

Another soul from Centreville, VA. A native of 26 years, unfortunately.

Born here. Second generation northern Virginian. My son is the third Generation, and he occasionally posts too.

Tris

Vermonter by birth, raised in New Hampshire. DC/NoVA since 1993. Currently in South Arlington. South AL, fool! What?

You know, I went to Chantilly and we had a term for people of the “Centreville” area…I won’t repeat it here though…

Oh, come on! As a lifer of the “Ville” there isn’t much that offends me about it anymore…

Richmond doper checking in… though, for the time being, I’m in Charlottesville attending aforementioned University.

And I’m quite proud of my Richmond status.

A lifetime? Wow, I remember when Centreville was an intersection with a gas station, and a really sleazy pool hall that excluded women and beatnics.

Tris

Arlington…been in this area for 13 years, but I was born and raised in Arkansas, as my handle suggests.

Yes, I wear shoes…

Roanoke checking in, I’d be willing to drive up maybe.

Go Hokies!
