Noah Adams, longtime host of NPR’s All Things Considered, has died : NPR

I don’t drive much any more, but years ago when I had a long commute I listened to NPR for a couple of hours every day in the car.

The link is to a lovely article about Adams. He started at NPR in the 1970s and according to the article, he “guided listeners through major events like Ronald Reagan’s landslide electoral victories, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the September 11 terrorist attacks.” He was an accomplished pianist and I remember a series of reports when he was learning a difficult piano piece as a surprise for his wife’s birthday.

Rest in peace, Noah.
From a Fan.

As a long time NPR listener, this is sad. I always enjoyed his time on air.

Another familiar voice gone.

As has been mentioned, his voice was distinctive (and his delivery sane and smart).

Condolences to his family, friends, and former co-workers.
