Noah's ark? Bets anyone?

Way to waste a satelite. I’m guessing it turns out to be rocks. Any takers?

Sheesh. Why don’t they just mount (no pun intended) a manned expedition to the darned thing? This area might be difficult to reach, but I can’t imagine that it’s impossible…or more expensive than launching a satellite to figure it out.

Rocks. .

Even Noah’s ark search dismissed the photos:

Curiously in the Space article the photo was flipped, and enhanced.

(Seethruart, is that you?)

I’m hoping that the “soon-to-be-launched commercial spacecraft” mentioned in the article will be focusing its “powerful cameras” on other things besides these bumps on Mount Ararat.

Ya know, if you stare at satellite pictures of any mountain long enough you’ll probably find sumthin’ that looks like a boat.

Anyway, I thought it was long-establised that the modern-day Mt. Ararat is unlikely to be the same as the one in the biblical “mountains of Ararat” Even sez “The tops of the mountains were seven.” (Gen 8:4-5)

Rocks

I thought this was debunked ages ago, only Jack Chick believes it now.

Ah, found it.

The satellite is called “QuickBird 2”, a commericial high-resolution ground-photography satellite put up by EarthWatch, Inc… A press releases about this satellite can be found at http://www.digitalglobe.com/news/QB2_launch_3-22-01_final.shtml. It’s scheduled to launch in October 2001, from Vandenberg Air Force Base here in sunny California. Apparently, it’s going to take 0.65-meter-resolution pictures or areas all over the globe – not just over the Ararat region – and then sell those pictures.

What’s interesting about QuickBird 2 is it’s apparently going to be in something called a “sun-synchronous orbit,” which allows it to take multiple pictures of the same area at the same time of day.

According to the article quoted in the OP:

“Since 1991, the mountain has been closed due to Turkish military operations against Kurdish rebels in the area.”

They just don’t ant us to know the truth. Nasa’s probably behind this.

Sooo…if the Bible had said anything about Mars, we could have gotten funding to land humans on it by now.

I hope they also focus it on Mount Olympus, I’d sure like to see a picture of Zeus on his throne.

I always liked space.com. But if they’re going to continue to publish “news” that is more suitable for The National Inquirer or The Weekly World News, I just may stop visiting them.

I think it’s far more likely that Amelia Earhart’s airplane will be found.

If most of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World (in existence a mere 2000 years ago) haven’t made it though the ages to today, why would any right thinking person, even if they believed in the Deluge, anticipate with any real certainty that the Ark would have survived?

Hmmm… surely scientific curiosity alone warrants more that just a guess…

Quick! Someone get crackin’ on those Mars photos and find a Star of David!

I’ll bet a buck that it’s real.

(I figure power ball pays off 300 million to 1, I’m sure I get at least twice those odds with this one.)
