Nobel Son, movie - worst POS ever?

Nobel Son
Holy mother of fuck this movie was bad! Or is it just me? I was boggled at the bad (nonsensical, hard to follow) plot, the bad acting, the bad… well, just everything. How did they possibly talk:
Alan Rickman
Bryan Greenberg
Shawn Hatosy
Mary Steenburgen
Bill Pullman
Eliza Dushku
Danny DeVito
Lindy Booth
Ted Danson
and
Ernie Hudson
To star in this wretched movie. Sorry to rant but WOW this thing sucked. Has anyone else seen it? It has rave reviews on IMDB, color me purplexed.

Stop beating around the bush! *Did *you like it or didn’t you?

I don’t know anything about it, but the last commentor on IMDb apparently loved it.

Well, it does have a character named, “Excrement Woman.” I don’t know what that signifies.

The answer to why those people were in it is that the producers had money to pay them.

Maybe. DeVito’s part was tiny, looked more like a favor (debt?).

Yeah, let’s get to the point!

So… thumbs down?

I dunno, I saw 30,000 (yes 30) leagues under the sea the other day, with Orlando? Lamas.

Holly crap that was crappily craptastic.

It passed bad, so bad its good, so bad its just plain unbearably bad, and kept on trucking…

So what you’re saying is, the guy who directed: A Tale of Two Bunnies (2000), H-E Double Hockey Sticks (1999), (TV) and The Sixth Man (1997) directed a bad movie?

I’m shocked…shocked I tell you.

ETA: Apparently he’s the cousin of Rhea Perlman so that would explain how DeVito found his way into the movie.

Lorenzo Lamas.

Thanks for that. I didn’t recognize the director, probably because I haven’t seen any of his other movies. I watched about 5 minutes of the ‘making of’ documentary and he was boasting about having wrote the movie. The really odd thing was all of the principal actors talked about how wonderful the script was. Oy…

heh, yeah, to be honest, I hadn’t heard of the director either, I just did a quick IMDb search and looked at those three movies (all of which I’d unfortunately seen and all of which are terrible). I didn’t mean to come across as jerkish.

Regarding the actor who loved the script: I watched a doc called “Best Worst Movie” about the movie Troll 2 which is generally considered the worst movie ever made and they showed an interview with one of the lead actresses who was convinced despite everything that she was part of a terrific movie.

I was close…they both have two O’s, an L, an R and a N
