Nobody believes me when I say my driveway sucks~

This is my brand spanking new horse trailer being delivered this morning. :smack::(

I damned near burst into tears. All’s well that ends well, but I did say umpteen times to both Resa (the dealer) and the driver when he called that my driveway was a challenge, and that I had a specific set of maneuvers to make sure both the ditch and the fence are cleared. And obviously, I’m just a silly girl and don’t know what I’m talking about ::slight_smile:

In the end, once the driver and my very kind helpful neighbor (not the picky old pair that own the obnoxious fence, and the ditch on the other side) un-ditchd it, I DID have to coach him. He tried it his way first and damn near ditched it again.

The ditch was supposed to be fitted with a sort of cattle guard thing last week, but the contractor dude flaked on me, sigh.

And just because I am tickled pink about my new trailer:

:D:cool:

Jesus pizza! I’m glad it turned out okay, but it’s not like you didn’t take every possible precaution. Totally their fault for not listening.

That kinda reminds me of one time when I was driving to work. A tractor trailer had tried to make a right turn and SOMEHOW got his trailer stuck on the median. And it was tilted significantly sideways up on 2 wheels. I have no idea how they got it unstuck, there’s no tow truck I’ve ever seen that’s large enough to winch that kind of weight.

Congratulations on the new trailer? I hope it wasn’t damaged during the delivery. (If it was, I’d say you have an open-and-shut case for them top pay for repairs…)

Not even something like this?

Of course, a larger tow truck doesn’t always help. (NB 12th photo is shopped, rest are genuine…)

Happy 4/20 and all, but maybe be a lil discrete.

That’s the problem, the drawbridge over the moat needs to be bigger.

Nice trailer. Where are the varmints that go in it? I never knew a horse owner who didn’t want to show them off.

I just have to let you know that I love this exclamation.

Nom, nom.

My parent’s driveway was always wide enough for two cars plus another 3 feet and had a drainage pipe under it. The drainage pipe even had a foot tall stone pillar marking it on both sides. Certain relatives always drove their vehicle off the drive over the pipe knocking the pillar off and hanging their car axle on the edge of the drive over the pipe.

OK, so please edumacate me about horse trailers. What is the purpose of the electrical outlets, the hooks near the ceiling (hanging horse gear?), and the large elevated area at the front?

Some people sleep in the front at night.

I’ve known someone that had a cooking stove and heater installed for when the horses are not in it. Clothes, tools. food and booze go in there sometimes.

Thanks for humoring my gloat :stuck_out_tongue: I have 7 horses total, but the one who will be using it most is Keogh a QHxTB that I raised and trained, and who is out of my mare Holly. I also have Archie, Spot, Geronimo, Bootsie (who I cannot find a good picture of, but is a 13h bay pony), and Ariel.

And for Scarlett67 the area with the hooks and the raised area is the tack room that I ordered a bit larger than usual, and had outlets & A/C added. The floor space is 8ft, the nose of the goose is 7 1/2 ft. I plan to use it as my main tack room since I don’t have a real barn, just a shed, so the hooks and racks will hold bridles, saddles and all the miscellaneous crap that I can’t seem to live without :stuck_out_tongue: I’d also like to be able to stay overnight in it at shows or camping, so I plan to add a small fridge, a microwave, an electric kettle, and a mattress that’ll go up in the bell of the goose. It has a typical RV plug in, or I can run it off a generator. There’s also an auxiliary battery to run just lights and fans even if it’s not plugged in to anything. The awnig will add shade and be an outdoor living area, weather permitting. A bucket w/ kitty litter set in the horse area will be a nighttime porta-potty

And one more of my fabulous Keogh, because he is my pride and joy  : http://jenk.org/G3.bin/var/albums/swj_pics/ChattHills%20water.jpg

Keogh is awesome, no mistake about that. But Ariel hooked up to her little wagon is just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. She’s all fuzzy and I love her white head. I want her.

They’re all gorgeous! Can I come and give them all treats?

I think that while the trailer may be nice and clean, it’s still second-class transportation. Horsies should ride up front (as long as they’re belted in).

Ah, so it doubles as a people trailer as well. Thanks.

Gorgeous trailer and extra gorgeous horses. I hope you know I am totally green with envy!

The trailer is very pretty but I think Geronimo is even prettier.
