Nobody remembers it but You and YouTube

This, I thought I was the only one. Not so much the animated characters, but the freaky live hand puppets in the Outerscope stories: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v6r-_EFOjU

Oh, and the kid’s educational show, Mulligan Stew, all about nutrition.

There’s great classic British TV there…

First, all of the TV idents. I grew up in Suffolk and Oxfordshire, so seeing the Anglia knight, and the ATV bongs (“In Colour!”) gives me a warm fuzzy. Plus the LWT and Thames idents. Weird how they take you back…

I also watch a lot of the intros to kids’ shows - Jamie and the Magic Torch, Rainbow, Magpie…

There are some horrifying public information films on there… one is with a kid who gets his legs cut off because he falls on the railway track. And the famed “Apaches” PIF, in which every kid playing cowboys and Indians gets killed by farm equipment.

Barney’s Clubhouse POW! A “live” video game played in between cartoons on a local TV station in Green Bay, WI in 1980. Ignore the first thirty seconds of the clip.

Heh … not only can I recite the alphabet, but Mrs. Dvl knows that “I don’t care” will likely result in getting eaten by a lion

Reminds me now of the old UTV ident. It used to feature spikes representing the different transmitters in Northern Ireland, we moved to one of them, Strabane, shortly after that ident in the youtube link started.
